MotoGP rumors: Cecchinello in HRC to replace Puig? He would manage MotoGP and SBK!

This is a scorching hot time in the MotoGP silly season, and not only for the riders. There can be changes too for team managers and the new regulations will come with key people.
Last year there were changes not only at Pramac but also there was an important change at Ducati’s factory team, while Aprilia got a golden opportunity in the shape of its new team manager of its satellite team. We’re still to see changes at Yamaha and also at Honda HRC.
You’ve already read the title of what should happen but there’s a load of really interesting details in the midst of those of are and are not candidates, who haven’t been chosen. And the denial of Cecchinello, himself!

    Misterhelmet Shop

Let’s make a quick recap to picture the current scenario:

Ducati

There was a change at Pramac Ducati with the arrival of Gino Borsoi, as KTM had hired Francesco Guidotti off the hands of Campinoti’s team.

It should be known that this role was proposed to Livio Suppo beforehand, however he chose not to accept it, presumably because of the fact Pramac is, at the end of the day, a Ducati client.

He instead offered his services to KTM which had already eyes on Guidotti.

The Lenovo team also faced a major facelift in the sporting direction. Paolo Ciabatti moved his office to the newly formed Motocross workshop, and in his place the Bolognese factory promoted Mauro Grassilli. Perhaps soon enough, in due time, Davide Tardozzi shall pass the torch to Manuel Poggiali, but it’s not yet a concrete move.

Aprilia

The Noale lions have also made big moves in the meanwhile. For its satellite team, Trackhouse, after Razali’s exit, they have gotten a luxurious figure, none other than Davide Brivio.

Suppo also applied for this position, considering the success he’s had in his career.

It’s a bit of a story of fate for the manager from Turin to see Brivio find his way ahead of him. Even in Suzuki, before the withdrawal of the Japanese, they had told him that the place would be his only if Brivio refused to return. And then we all know how it turned out. Brivio remained a captive in Alpine and Suppo took the reins of the Suzuki garage, which however withdrew after a year.

Yamaha

Lest not forget Lin Jarvis, who’s set to retire and be replaced by Paolo Paversio. In this case nevertheless Pavesio seems to have beaten the competition of Livio Suppo, who is evidently trying to return, but for the moment he has not found the desired position despite being perhaps the most titled of figures like his.

In the meantime, he remains a consultant for Italtrans in Moto2 and manager of Denis Foggia, which is still better than staying at home.

Honda HRC

We’re not finished, because now we should talk about the real deal, the incoming moves set to happen at Honda HRC.

The big news is that Alberto Puig is set to be replaced by Lucio Cecchinello.

It’s not my news as the rumours are already running around the motorsport world, but let’s look at the details.

Lucio Cecchinello would be about to become HRC plenipotentiary for two wheels, starting to manage both the MotoGP project and the WSBK project.

It seems that the offer made to Cecchinello is one that cannot be refused, both from a technical and financial point of view.

There should be, therefore, a new structure brewing, presumably headquartered in Italy, most likely in San Marino, separate from the one managed by Cecchinello himself, LCR.

What happens with the LCR team?

In theory, LCR should remain with Honda, and continue its place as HRC’s satellite team of reference.

This is not the time to let go of the Monegasque team unless Lucio’s departure from his team leaves a window of opportunity for Yamaha.

It would be impossible for Cecchinello to be responsible for Honda HRC while at the same time have his own squad with Yamaha bikes, thus, he would have to give up the team and therefore the two places could be reassigned.

This decision would be done, presumably, by Dorna, even if Ezpeleta, interviewed by Misterhelmet, said he was sure that sooner or later Yamaha will be able to have two bikes, and he also guaranteed that there would be no interference from the Organizer.

In the case Honda could keep LCR as its client, maybe it would be finally the chance for Livio Suppo to return to the MotoGP paddock.

Two observations

I would like to offer two observations:

The first: it’s incredible how there are managers who don’t apply but are courted and showered with money to accept roles while others, despite being titled, struggle.

For the second, I ask you a question: what do Ducati Lenovo, Gresini, VR46, Pramac, Yamaha, LCR, KTM, Aprilia and Trackhouse have in common?

They all  have an Italian-led management team. In fact, apart from the GASGAS team, managed by Poncharal, its owner, all the MotoGP teams, both factory and private, are managed by Italians.

In terms of industrial programming and planning, perhaps we are not the best choice, but when it comes to improvising, adapting, mediating and solving problems, i.e. all the things that are needed in MotoGP, we become number one!

Cecchinello’s reaction:

Contacted directly, Lucio Cecchinello denied HRC’s proposal and the ongoing negotiations and declared that he has the LCR team as his main objective while always remaining available to collaborate with HRC for the development of the motorbike and for all sporting and marketing activities that may promote Honda in all areas in which it is involved.

There is therefore no intention on his part to become part of HRC’s management nor to replace any of its management figures.

    Misterhelmet Shop

Vinales, Acosta, Bastianini, Martin, Bagnaia, Di Giannantonio, Espargaro, Bezzecchi, Binder, Raul Fernandez.
E in Texas è assolutamente in bolla.

CARMELO EZPELETA: “COMANDO ANCORA IO!” INTERVISTA ESPLOSIVA!

CARMELO EZPELETA: “I’M STILL IN COMMAND!” EXPLOSIVE INTERVIEW!

It’s my second interview with Carmelo Ezpeleta, and interviewing him is like fighting!
If you really want to be a journalist and go beyond “friendly” questions, you need to know that he gives you all the blows back, he corrects you, he doesn’t let you pass a single one and he gets pissed off too.
Ezpeleta is a great fighter, who always comes out of the corner and always knows what he has to do and what he has to say. I may not agree with everything but he has my respect. Who knows if I have his.

Quartararo rimane in Yamaha.

PERTAMINA EXTENDS with VR46. They want the Academy but NOT YAMAHA!

There is a lot of talk about a possible move from Ducati to Yamaha for the VR46 Pertamina team. It shouldn’t happen and there are good reasons. Pertamina is ready to renew for another two years by putting a monstrous sum on the table.
14 million to also sponsor the Academy but there are conditions. Here are all the details of the renewal and all the reasons for the NO to Yamaha together with other incredible news that you will find in the video.

    Misterhelmet Shop

VIDEO WITH ENG SUBT

Many of you know that one of the wide-ranging market topics in MotoGP is a possible move of the VR46 team, Pertamina to Yamaha.
We’ve been talking about it for a long time, but it never happens.
Now it seems that DORNA’s pressure for Yamaha to also have a team is increasing.
From what I think, VR46 will not go to Yamaha.
Then I could be wrong but I’m about to explain to you why Valentino’s team, despite being Valentino himself a Yamaha ambassador, will remain with Ducati.

Whether it happens or not, my impressions aside, I’m about to give you some great news.
Very nice news that rewards the great sporting and marketing work of the VR46 team which I will never tire of complimenting.

You have understood that I think that despite what has been said for a long time, that Valentino’s MotoGP team will switch to Yamaha, it won’t happen for me.
Many things in the paddock are said because they seem the most normal, the most logical, but other logics according to which these things don’t happen escape us. Tanal also seemed like a logical fit because it was charming. But it wasn’t true.

I won’t explain here, given that Yamaha won’t have the VR46 team, who they will give the other two bikes to. This is a discussion I will face later.
I explain why VR46, which is working very well, will remain with ducati.
Even if Ducati has made it clear that it will be difficult to maintain 8 bikes.

I’ll tell you simply: PERTAMINA DOES NOT AGREE.
Pertamina, which is a state oil company, Pertamina which arrived in Italy with over 100 people at the team presentation, Pertamina which chased 18 million for 3 years, wants to stay in front and therefore the Yamahas are not good.
Maybe in a few years it will happen, when the regulations change, but not for now.
In my opinion. Maybe it’s one of those pieces that will age badly, but I’ll also tell you what Pertamina is doing towards VR46, to make it concretely clear what it likes and what it doesn’t.

There are rumors, which should be confirmed in a few days, that speak of an extension of the contract with VR46 Motogp for another 2 years.
And it’s big stuff. but it’s not over. The extension provides not 6 million per year, as is currently the case, but 7.
So Pertamina adds another 14 million to the current 18 million and also wants to sponsor the Academy.

And it reaches 32.

Do you know any other sponsors of this level, including official teams?
Does it seem to you that this extension is not a message at this moment?
Do you think that those who pay 32 million want to finish last and don’t want to say anything about which motorbikes are used?

It is a confirmation of sponsorship, it is a confirmation of trust and it is a confirmation of the current situation.
Indeed, it is an incentive to do better. Do you say that Diggia and Bezzecchi on Yamaha could do better?
Given that it is correct that Diggia has already renewed as I said in another video, are you saying that in his contract there is no mention of the motorbike he will ride?
Let’s say Bez leaves, for some reason, do you think that any rider could do better on Yamaha than the current Bezzecchi is doing on Ducati?

I could just give you the news of the two-year extension of Pertamina to 14 million and I would be fine but I’ll try to reason with you.

And what about valentino, who is a Yamaha ambassador? Has something stopped him so far from racing with Ducati, from sending his brother to Honda, from taking a non-VR46 rider like Diggia AND NOT MORBIDELLI who has parked with others, or from trying to take Aldeguer? From racing in a car with BMW?
No. And I’ll tell you why. For Vale, Uccio and all the management, the only interest is in being as strong as possible and this can only be achieved with Ducati. With all the money they have to spend, they will be first in line to get the best bikes from Ducati, even perhaps the official ones, if any official interlocutor drops out. VR46 not only might not go to Yamaha but it could also be the new Pramac. And I already said this in another article a long time ago.

Under what conditions could VR46 go to Yamaha, instead? They should be forced by Dorna, but someone should not only give him the bikes for free but make Pertamina understand some Reasons. 14 million reasons.

Then, of course, I could also be wrong.
