La gara di Assen è di quelle che lasciano l’amaro in bocca a tutti tranne che a uno, nel caso specifico, a Quartararo, che va in pausa vacanza con il mondiale in tasca. Ci rimane male Vinales, convinto di tornare finalmente a Vincere. Lo spagnolo dovrebbe però guardare il bicchiere mezzo pieno perché dopo le ultime prestazioni, questa è d’oro. Chi va male è Casa Ducati, perché il sempre sottovalutato Zarco è ancora il migliore mentre Bagnaia, con tanto di pista tatuata, non becca nemmeno il podio nonostante una gara aggressiva.
La verità è che le forze in campo sono sempre quelle. Aprilia che cresce, Suzuki che va bene ma non stupisce (con Rins a terra questa volta senza colpe), e una KTM che va sempre mediamente bene.
E le Honda? Bene Nakagami e bene anche Marquez, che rimonta da ventesimo a settimo e si toglie anche qualche soddisfazione. Male invece Pol Espargaro, che è destinato a soffrire e a prenderle sempre.

Vinales parte male dopo essersi toccato con Qauartararo dopo che il francese gli tagla la strada. Maverick si trova quinto mentre Bagnaia passa in testa e Nakagami è terzo.
Al secondi giro fanno out Zarco e Rins e i due devono ricostruire la gara da zero o quasi anche se il francese ha modo di portare a casa subito un giro veloce.

A meno 20 Quartararo passa e inizia a impostare il suo ritmo. Vinales, invece, in ritardo, ha bisogno di passare Nakagami e Bagnaia per non perdere l’occasione di vincere.
Nel frattempo Rossi va out e perde le chiavi della città.
A meno 13 mentre Bagnaia subisce una penalità per track limit, Vinales passa Nakagami e poi lo stesso Bagnaia a cui va comunque meglio che a Jack Miller, che va out al rampino.
A meno 12 le cinque posizioni perse certificano le difficoltà di Nakagami mentre Marc Marquez è addosso a Bagnaia. Sarà duello fino alla fine.

Quartararo allunga sul mondiale, Vinales risorge, Mir patteggia.
Zarco ancora miglior Ducati e Oliveira consistente.
Delude Bagnaia mentre Marquez da ventesimo finisce settimo. Benino l’Aprilia. Rossi pensa allo sceicco e va a testare le sabbie, peccato.
