Niente da dire sulle Suzuki, anonime all’inverosimile .
Mini-record of the race
But really mini, let's say micro. At the start Marquez in the lead ahead of Aleix Espargaro until the first drops of rain that then stop to resume a few laps later.
Those are the two decisive moments because with the rain the Spaniard twice takes the freedom to risk everything. And it is those two choices that give him a race that seems designed for him.
What happens behind is indefinable: total Yamaha disaster, KTM confirmation and lots of mistakes from everyone.
Bagnaia makes the slalom and that means there are so many things wrong. Zarco makes mistakes and gets scared, Miller like him, and Espargaro believes but it's not enough. There are no specific events, just dejavu.
Così comunque all’arrivo:
Marquez, Oliveira, Quartararo, Binder, Bagnaia, Miller, Aleix Espargaro, Zarco, Mir, Pol Espargaro a chiudere i dieci.
Two lines on qualifying. Unthinkable to see riders grazing waiting for a hook. If Zarco, Miller and Quartararo worked alone, so can the others. Useless to expect fairness from Moto3 juniors if the adults behave even worse.
Report cards
Marquez
OK it's his track but victory is not a given.
The Spaniard makes two crazy choices and is rewarded.
From there you can tell that history is written
Rated 10
Oliveira
Voto 9,5
Quartararo
Seeing his brandmates must be drinking prosecco by the garganella.
Today what he's interested in is keeping the championship standing, and so it goes, and so it's a podium that's worth victory.
Rated 9
Binder
Voto 8
Bagnaia
It is true that he finishes fifth after a race in which he is also sixteenth, but one cannot always be absolved for everything.
Top riders must also know how to make comebacks, as well as being able to start well on the grid. Bagnaia has all the numbers to not have to look for excuses and today's race proves it.
Rated 7.5
Miller
Strong, determined, and even clean, but in the end he gives in.
He doesn't believe and it's all his fault. Net of problems, he loses a direct confrontation that he should not lose.
Rated 7
Aleix Espargaro
Some complain that he is slow and that he hinders his opponents.
The truth is that Espargaro fights with what he has and always gives everything. Even when things are not going well, Espargaro never backs down.
Rated 8
Zarco
From candidate for victory to candid camera victim.
He collapses immediately and never recovers.
Rated 5
Mir
Okay to bet on the comeback, okay even today's, but you can't rely on that alone. Mir brings home a race as spectacular as it is useless for the kind of ranking he should aspire to.
Rating 5
Pol Espargaro
With Marquez winning and Pol Espargaro closing out the ten, it explains a lot. Namely, that a bike is only as good as its second rider.
