Ad Aragon per gara2, Redding vince di palle e di fondoschiena, grazie ad una scelta di gomme contraria alle direttive del team (i gesti al traguardo sono eloquenti) e ad una spallata di Gerloff che cambia la giornata di Jonathan Rea.
L’irlandese è tanto predestinato che non cade nemmeno così, e poi va a prendersi un secondo posto che vale una vittoria.
Lo stesso discorso si può fare per Gerloff, unico a mostrare talento e uno dei pochi da promuovere nonostante l’erroraccio che ha cambiato la faccia di gara2. Tolti lui, Rea e il fortunato e palluto Redding, si può salvare ben poco di questa gioranata.

Partono in gara2 e ci sono ancora una vota rider che montano gomme che segnalano già di voler cambiare. Follia.
Davies subito out con una rain… inspiegabile la scelta.
Con poco meno 16 giri da fare Gerloff fa un errore che lo manda in terra e punisce anche Rea che rimane in piedi ma perde la leadership.
A meno 13 VDMark è in testa seguito da Redding e Razgatlioglu, poi Lowes, Rea, Sykes e Bautista…
E a meno 10 le cose si mettono ancora meglio per Redding perché dopo aver preso la testa della corsa, inizia a mettere anche metri.
Nel marasma Rea con gomma intermedia è meglio di tutti, per lo meno di quelli alla sua portata, e la sua gara ha spazio anche per del cinema di traiettorie e ragazzate.
Le BMW rimangono nella media con il solo Sykes a sognare un podio che però non vedranno. Honda conclude il week end lasciando Bautista, a mezzo giro dalla fine, senza benzina e senza top ten. Anche questo simboleggia la debacle della casa dell’ala.

The fact that he is the predestined is seen when he does not go to the ground even after Gerloff enters. He does all the rest.
Of the rest, he is always there, while the luck of others, almost never.

The truth is that he would not get ahead of Rea even if Rea did not race. Yet he is strong. He almost seems to be in the world to make everyone understand Rea's value.

To many, he is the anti Rea. Yet he looks like a shadow of the fury he was in last season's outings. He needs to shake it off.

For the race he deserves an 8.5, but the very costly vaccination combined at the start must be reversed. Rea, who is smart and recognizes his talent, forgives him. He understands, and apologizes.
